We’re excited to welcome George Bishai to join our team as Product Manager! George brings six years of cybercrime investigation experience in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and plans to leverage his expertise to drive our suite of AML compliance product development as the “Web3 revolution takes off”. Curious why he made the transition and joined us? Dive into our interview to learn more.
- Can you tell us a little about your career journey prior to joining AnChain.AI?
I started my career as a cybercrime analyst at the New York County District Attorney’s Office Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau in 2016. I then had the opportunity to serve as an investigator, a sworn law enforcement role where I learned things like how to use a gun, jump over 6-foot walls, perform CPR, and so much more. It’s an incredible experience. During my time there, I worked on a variety of cases from standard street crime to more complex financially motivated crimes. After a year, I transferred back to the Cybercrime Bureau and had the opportunity to work on cases involving cryptocurrency and the dark web. One of my crown achievements was working with the London law enforcement in apprehending the hacker who stole unreleased music from world-famous musicians in exchange for cryptocurrency. Prior to joining AnChain.AI, I started spearheading all of the Crypto and NFT-related theft investigations as the Senior Investigator.
- Tell us a about your new role here at AnChain.AI
I am AnChain.AI’s new Product Manager. In this role, I will be responsible for the blockchain analytics software suite, CISO, and more. I am very excited to get a major say in the development of the software and building something that I wish I had in my previous role. I plan to leverage my years of experience from investigating financially motivated crimes and work on creating products that assist criminal investigators to investigate and identify bad actors in this new exciting space.
- Six years in the public sector! What drove your decision to go into the private sector and join our team?
I couldn’t sit on the sidelines watching the Web3 revolution take off. I had to be a part of it. I was way too young to have the opportunity to join Apple or Google when they were startups. Web3 and blockchain tech are changing the world and I had to be on the frontlines.
AnChain.AI is setting itself apart from the competition by being a truly innovative company in this new space. Like AnChain.AI, I agree that establishing transparency and trust so that all people can freely and safely interact in this space is absolutely necessary for the success of Web3.
- What is your favorite part about working at AnChain.AI?
The people. There are so many brilliant and forward-thinking people at this company. They are building some of the most impressive things I have ever seen. Every single person in the company is accessible and truly passionate about their work. I love being a part of cutting-edge technology. The work we do here is going to change the future for the better.
- What excites you most when thinking about the future of AnChain.AI or the industry as a whole?
The ability to utilize this technology for doing so much good in the world. The overwhelming majority of this space shares the same mission and values of implementing an economic system that is more open, inclusive, efficient, and accessible to all. Blockchain technology is a catalyst for economic freedom and prosperity. I am incredibly excited to play a role in progressing these ideas forward.
